The Things We Tell Ourselves

Never again.

I tried my hardest.

Tomorrow.

I forgot.

There’s no time.

I can’t.

I don’t love him.

It’s not the same.

Just one more time.

I don’t love her.

It didn’t hurt.

I don’t remember.

It’s okay.

This time is different.

One more drink.

I love him.

I love her.

I’ve changed.

People change.

Time heals all wounds.

The sky’s the limit.

It’s not my fault.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

Love lasts forever.

I’m happy.

I’m okay.

Always.

Day

After

Day

After

Day

The lies we tell ourselves.

When the social media networks, radio stations and TV channels, reflect destruction, hopelessness and chaos…

May we never lose hope.

Losing hope will destroy us faster than any injustice ever could.

Reminiscing The Aftermath [Poem]

Dark clouds linger

Mounted in gray.

War is waged.

The sunlight settles

Into clouded blankets.

The black Knight

Fights the dawn.

At a distance,

The masses gather

Raising their voices.

One last song

Carried faithfully on

Across the miles,

By soft winds

That never forget.
